    The Inland Empire is comprised of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Data from the U.S. Department of Commerce shows that expansion in the Inland Region has led personal income to increase by nearly fivefold from 1980 – 2000, rising from $16 billion to $77 billion. As a result, when the Inland Empire’s personal income is compared to states, the two-county region ranks 30th in the nation.

    In terms of population, the Inland Empire has more people than 21 states, with 3.4 million individuals. The region is home to 16 colleges and universities, with an additional 10 community colleges operating from 13 campuses.
