    Presented by Operation REAPP. It is the mission of the Inland Empire Jazz Festival to entertain and expose a diverse audience of Jazz aficionados and young Jazz enthusiasts to the variety and rich heritage of Jazz music while unifying the Inland Empire’s diverse population, promoting tourism, and contributing to its community. Designed to be a weekend of fun and entertainment for the whole family, the Inland Empire Jazz Festival is dedicated to the economic development, community unification, and education and cultural awareness of jazz music a traditional form of music. The weekend will include three days of live Jazz, inclusive of local and nationally recognized talents, jazz superstars and legends, as well as participation by area high school and college jazz ensembles in a competition style presentation to showcase the talent and diversity of the young people of the Inland Empire. This exhilarating weekend will also include a Community Day that will be devoted to a special population and a Sunday afternoon cruise of classic and vintage cars accenting Historic Route 66 ending at the Inland Empire Jazz Festival. Each year focusing on a special issue, in 2007, the Inland Empire Jazz Festival seeks to promote awareness of the population of persons with developmental disabilities living in the Inland Empire. Developmental disabilities are a diverse group of mild to severe chronic conditions that are due to mental and/or physical impairments. People with developmental disabilities have problems with major life activities such as language, mobility, learning, self-help, and independent living. Developmental disabilities begin anytime during development up to 22 years of age and usually last throughout a person’s lifetime. Persons with developmental disabilities in the Inland Empire are served by Inland Regional Center, is one of 21 regional centers in the state of California serving roughly 21,276 individuals residing in San Bernardino and Riverside counties with service delivery covering an area close to 28,000 miles of geography.
