Malki Museum
The heart of any museum is its collections. The primary function of Malki Museum is to collect and display historical materials and artifacts pertaining to (l) the Indians of San Gorgonio Pass; (2) the Cahuilla-speaking peoples; (3) all other Indian groups of Southern California; and (4) other Indians having historical and cultural ties with the above peoples. In a few years' time, Malki Museum's collection has grown from a few dozen artifacts to thousands of items. Display changes are made periodically, but until the museum's building program is completed, exhibit space will remain limited and many artifacts must remain in storage.
