Joslyn Players

Joslyn Players and the City of Indian Wells Since their first production in 1999, the Joslyn Players have created an award-winning dramatic and musical theatre organization whose primary goal is to provide a professional forum for the development and performance of new and revived plays, musical revues and book musicals with senior-related themes which are performed predominantly by seniors 55 and older who are both professional and non-professional actors. Joslyn Players’ first presentation was a series of vignettes called Skits-O-Phrenia, produced on a shoestring and little publicized beyond the Center’s own newsletter. The second production was a huge leap forward -- a fully-produced musical revue called All Night Strut! which opened in late 2000 and proved so popular with audiences and the media alike that it was brought back in March of 2001. All Night Strut! could not have happened without a grant received from the City of Indian Wells. The following year, another grant from Indian Wells made possible the Joslyn Players productions of 70 Girls 70 and Driving Miss Daisy. It was the highly professional quality of these early productions, along with enthusiastic audiences and reviews, which provided the foundation of what is now a full-season theater company.
