“Quilt Stories from the Inland Empire”

Artists Reception: Friday, December 7, 2012 - 5:00-7:30 p.m.
Purpose: This is a call for an exhibition of current quilt trends and historical quilts from the Inland Empire communities. Entries may be traditional patterns or contemporary art quilts of any theme. The purpose of the exhibition is to demonstrate the variety of quilting styles and techniques of the Inland Empire.
Qualifications: Each entrant is invited to submit no more than three (3) entries for consideration, including historical entries. All quilting levels are invited to submit entries for consideration. Entries may be hand pieced, hand quilted, machine quilted or any combination. Any technique of surface decorations such as appliqué, embellished, whole cloth, etc, all must be secured and not too heavy to impede hanging of quilt. Transportation to and from the museum of the selected entry is sole responsibility of the entrant.
Prospectus / Entry Forms: Call the museum to receive a prospectus with entry forms attached. These can be mailed to you or emailed (as a PDF file).

Notification of Accepted Entries: August 2012 – notified by letter
Quilt Drop-off to Museum of History & Art, Ontario: Friday, November 16, 2012 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 17, 2012 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Artwork Pick-Up: Listed on loan form at time of drop-off
Entry Fees: No entry fee
Eligibility: Entry form must be accompanied by
- Include 4x6” photos: a front view, back view and two detail (close-up) shots
- Entrant name and title of quilt, dimensions, contact information on the back of each photo
- Entry forms filled out completely and signed by the quilter or person loaning the quilt. Make copies of each completed form for use with entry.
Quilt Specifications: Once you have notified of your participation, selected entries must be presented with acceptance and loan forms at the time of drop-off. Pin to your quilt an identifier label which should include: Quilters name, address, title, date of quilt and dimensions. Entries must have a 6” wide finished sleeve sewn onto the back at the top of the quilt. Noncompliance with this requirement may result in potential elimination from the show. (Other arrangements may be made for historical quilts upon request). Selected entries must be dropped-off in a protective cover of a pillowcase, cloth bag or other protective container.
