Brass Bash

The sound of trumpet, piccolo trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn and euphonium will fill La Sierra University's Hole Memorial Auditorium this Saturday night, in a musical extravaganza of brass performance.

The Brass Bash Recital will feature La Sierra adjunct trumpet professor Giovanni Santos, La Sierra adjunct music professor and trombonist David Kendall, and the La Sierra University Brass Quintet. The program features works by Johann Neruda, Tommaso Albinoni, Leonard Bernstein and Ernest Sachse.

Santos, a La Sierra alum and director of bands at Loma Linda Academy has appeared as a solo trumpet performer on television and feature film scores and has played nationwide as a soloist and chamber musician. Kendall, also a music lecturer at the University of California, Riverside, is a brass instructor at Loma Linda Academy and director of music ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverside.

    General admission is $10, senior citizens, $5, and family admission, $20. There is no admission cost for children age 12 and under.
