The Riverside Art Museum (RAM) announces a new film series to take place October 14th, October 28th, and November 11th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
 

Art:21 is a PBS-produced series documenting contemporary artists and the creative forces that drive them. For anyone that is confused about contemporary art and wants to understand the approach and the thinking behind the work, this series is a great introduction to contemporary art and the motivations and interests of the artists and their public.

It features in-depth interviews, guided walkthroughs of artist studios and their homes, and even shows them on set and directing artistic productions.

For those with an art history background, the series presents an opportunity to learn more about some of the most respected exhibited artists presenting work around the world today.
 

Some of the included artists have also exhibited at RAM in the past, including urban installation artist Barry McGee and poetic illustrator Raymond Pettibon. Other featured artists include Southern California artists Mark Bradford and John Baldessari, as well as other artists from across the country.

Film screenings include a talk by RAM Curator Lee Tusman, as well as Art History professors from the University of California, Riverside and Riverside Community College.
