Día de Los Muertos Family Discovery Day will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010, from noon to 4:00 p.m. The entire family is invited to explore the cultural holiday through artist-led workshops, storytelling, and hands-on arts and craft stations throughout the museum. You’ll explore the history and meaning of this lively cultural tradition that celebrates those who have passed on with an abundance of skulls, skeletons, flowers, candles, food, family, and fun. Highlights include printmaking with Jesús Cruz. Jr., Master Storyteller Karen Rae Kraut, and the art of Mexican paper cutting, papel picado with Olga Ponce-Furginson and Linda Smith.
