On the short list of the great living jazz singers, Dianne Reeves’ velvety vocals can conjure up nearly the entire history of popular music. Reeves excels at smoky balladry, bop improvisations, sensual soul and reinterpreting both the blues and gospel. She even has extensive experience working with some of the world’s great classical orchestras. As the vocal heir to such songbird greats as Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald, she was handpicked by jazz aficionado George Clooney for his 2005 film Good Night And Good Luck which netted Reeves her fourth Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. It is an achievement no other vocalist has equaled. A consummate artist, Reeves’ timeless voice and exceptional personality transform any concert setting into an intimate and magical space.
