Introduction to Watercolor
Instructor: Durre Waseem

This class will explore the medium of watercolor with a special emphasis on landscape and plein air painting. Students will view works as well as paint together in the studio. Topics covered include selecting paints, mixing color, brushstrokes, composition, and shading.
Instructor bio: Durre Waseem
 

Durre Waseem earned a Master’s degree in art from Punjab University, where she became a professor. She spent several years teaching at the DHA Women’s College in Karachi. Since 2001, she has lived with her family in Corona and has since gained a reputation throughout the Inland Empire as a formidable plein air expert. She has taught at the Art Institute of California in the Humanities. She teaches painting instruction as well as lectures on Islamic art, general art history, and other subjects. Durre is a member of Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR) and has exhibited widely, including at RAM.
