    Introduction to Digital Photography
    Instructors: Bill Thomas and Bob Upton
    Dates: Saturdays, July 17, 2010 – August 7, 2010
    Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    4 Saturdays: $175 | RAM Members $160
    This class will explore basic digital photography to help you master your camera and improve your photos. Week 1: Intro to the camera and how it works: aperture, shutter speed, focal length, and depth of field. Week 2: Operating your camera and learning the basic functions. Week 3: The art of composition. Week 4: Lighting.
    Participants are to bring their own cameras (with the manual).
    Instructor bio: Robert Upton
    Robert Upton, a Civil Engineering design technician by trade, is a long-time amateur photographer. Originally trained in the army, he continued with classes with the New York Institute of Photography and attended many photo workshops in the years since.
    His photographic achievements have been in wedding, automotive, landscape, and macro photography.
    For the past couple of years he has been teaching Digital Photography to senior citizens. Robert is a member of the Photo Artists Network (PAN), the Riverside Art Museum (RAM), the Redlands Camera Club, and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. His images have been shown at RAM, the Monterey Art Festival, and other exhibits.
    Instructor bio: Bill Thomas
    Bill Thomas is an award-winning certified Master Craftsman Photographer with a long and distinguished career. His artistic and organizational talents have complemented his camera work over the years.
    Bill is devoted to advancing the profession of professional photography. Both he and his wife Marscia have spent over 40 years as active members and in service to professional associations, including the Professional Photographers of California, Inc., the Inland Empire Professional Photographers and Videographers, Inc., and the Professional Photographers of America. The Professional Photographers of CA and the Professional Photographers of the Inland Empire bestowed upon Bill and Marscia ‘Life Member’ honors, which only a handful of photographers have received.
    A past president of the Professional Photographers of the Inland Empire and of the Professional Photographers of California, Bill has also been a member of the International Professional Photographers Guild for 15 years.
    Bill was inducted into the State of California Professional Photographers Hall of Fame in (2006) and has lectured up and down the state. He is celebrating his 54th year as a professional photographer this year.
    Bill is in his 2nd year as President of the Photo Artists Network (PAN), an affiliate of RAM.
