PAAR 5th Annual Paint Out & Exhibition 2010

The Plein Air Artists of Riverside affiliated with the Riverside Art Museum and the Riverside Arts Council, will have its 5th annual Paint-Out Week from Saturday, Feb. 20 through Feb. 28, 2010. Over fifty artists will paint in plein air by recreating various scenes along the beautiful historic Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside and surrounding areas throughout the week. Artists will follow in the tradition of the French Impressionists and capture light and air of the scenes in front of them. On Feb. 27, 2010, from 9am to 11:30am, there will be a “Quick Draw” with an award ceremony at noon, judge (TBA). Prizes and ribbons will be awarded, followed by a wet painting sale at the Riverside Plaza in front of the Riverside Arts Project Gallery. Each artist will be able to exhibit at the Riverside Arts Project Gallery one piece of artwork painted during the 9 day event and their quick draw painting of the Riverside Plaza. The exhibit will be from Mar. 5 through May 5, 2010. The exhibition will be judged (TBA), cash and product prizes in the amount of $5000.00 will be awarded for the event.
