Archaeology Discovery Weekend

La Sierra University's School of Religion is hosting a weekend archaeological extravaganza,“Petra and Other Treasures of Jordan: Archaeology Discovery Weekend.” Enjoy intriguing exhibits of ancient artifacts excavated from Jordanian soil; repair broken ceramics and grind grain in hands-on exhibits; sample Middle Eastern food and music; and hear stimulating presentations by archaeology experts from Friedensau University, Germany; Burke Museum, Seattle; Brown University, Providence, R.I.; and La Sierra University. Dr. Martha Joukowsky of the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology & the Ancient World at Brown University will give a keynote address on “Petra and Its Great Temple." Enjoy a Middle Eastern dinner, Sun., 6 – 7:15 p.m., for $50 per person in La Sierra’s Dining Commons Cactus Room. For dinner reservations call 951-785-2041.
