George and Ira Gershwin come close to being the most prolific and successful songwriters of the last one hundred years. Dozens of musicals and hundreds of songs fill their portfolio with hit after hit and has become a significant part of the All American Songbook. Every self-respecting singer includes a little Gershwin on the program. Of course, George Gershwin was not just a song writer, having written a number of orchestra pieces that are now classics. “Rhapsody In Blue” and “An American In Paris” are heard frequently in concert halls everywhere. We will feature new arrangements of this great music performed by the Big Band All Stars, Cassie Miller and Richard Leibell. You will remember Cassie from last season’s “Tribute to the Big Bands.” Richard, long a star in the Palm Springs area, will be flying in to sing “’S Wonderful!” and other Gershwin favorites. Featuring the Big Band All Stars with guests Cassie Miller and Richard Leibell Conducted by Jeff Stover and Al Yankee
