This year the Ontario Mills Mall is pleased to announce its newest fundraiser for the Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) and Friends. The “Inland Empire Community Festival” is an unprecedented weekend of music and community activities designed to stimulate the local economy with a combination of creative and exciting events. Friday, August 28th - Wind down and “Celebrate Community” on opening day of the festival as it kicks off Country Western style. Food vendors are heating up the grills. Get out your cowboy boots and your line dancing shoes as KFROG and the IECF celebrate life to the sounds of country western, blues and swing. Join your neighbors at the Mills for an evening filled with music, food, and fun. Dress in your best western gear as the ‘IECF’ selects the “Best Dressed Cowboy and Girl.” Enjoy live music from KFROG’s top picks. Line dance and relax as you celebrate life. Time: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday, August 29th - The IECF rings with the smooth sound of jazz. Enjoy a mixture of jazz fusion and funk. You can two-step on the dance floor while local, national and world-renowned jazz artists take center stage. There’s an array of fun for the mature audience with plenty of great food and retail shopping. This upscale community event will pay tribute to Jazz legends as Saturday closes with a tribute to a special surprise guest. Time: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sunday August 30th - Get ready to celebrate life with family and friends. Sunday at the IECF is all about YOU! Relax and enjoy the smooth sounds of Latin Jazz, Salsa and Old School. Surprise guests and more await YOU. Early in the day, the community’s youth will showcase their talents as they sing, dance and play their instruments on the festival stage. The IECF has an array of activities for kids of all ages: arts & crafts, clowns, face painting, story time with your favorite characters, Build-A-Bear mascots, Disney stars, magic tricks and more. Time: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Proceeds from this event benefit multiple charities with various philanthropic causes. Using the Simon’s principal of giving, local community organizations are excited about the opportunity the festival brings as all will benefit from working together to raise funds to accomplish each charity’s goal.
