Cabaret @ The Loft Presents A Trio of Duos REDLANDS-The Performance Loft will host Cabaret @ The Loft, Wednesday April 15th with the first act scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Located in the beautiful and historic Mitten Building, the evening will feature a Trio of Duos. First up will be Mia Mercado and Cliff Vermillion, performing an assortment of cover tunes and a few new originals. Both hail from Redlands, and currently perform gigs throughout the Inland Empire with their band Blue Bird. Mercado is an award winning actress and choreographer for many local theaters. Vermillion has jammed with such artists as Spiro Nicolopoulos, Steve “Professor” Hellerman, Curry Harter and the incomparable Matt Coleman. The second act will feature husband and wife team, Brandon Peterson & Ifeanyi Chijindu. Peterson, a percussionist, has been playing music for over 18 years, with such groups as Ancestry of Sound, SOS: Step Off Satan & Chrysalis Child. He currently plays for rock/reggae band MG3 out of Los Angeles. Chijindu is an award winning journalist, author, poet & fine artist. She will be performing live art as her husband accompanies on the drums. The third act will feature Brittany Carvajal and Chad Patrick, performing soulful folk and Americana music. Singer/songwriter Carvajal has been a featured artist locally for The Performance Loft, The Vault Martini Bar, Canton Bistro, Little Fisherman’s, and was also selected to perform at the 2007 LA Music Awards! Patrick plays for local “Jamtronic” band Rolling Reunion. He also is a music educator and a judge for Guitar Center’s Annual Drum Competition, which he won in 2001 and 2007. Tickets cost $7 for general admission and $5 for students with valid ID. Refreshments are available by donation, including a selection of wine and beer. The Mitten Building is located at 345 5th Street in downtown Redlands. The Performance Loft’s primary goal is to provide the Redlands community a dynamic performing arts series that enriches the cultural fabric of the city and helps the community to experience the unusual in a vibrant and creative way. The Loft serves the community by presenting innovative and original performing arts through monthly programs: Theatre @ the Loft, Music @ the Loft, Cabaret @ the Loft, Playwrights @ the Loft, and Jazz @ the Loft. Additionally, the Performance Loft offers youth outreach programs, such as the reader’s theatre production of A Christmas Memory, by Truman Capote, and the Shakespeare Workshop for Kids.
