2009 Ontario Open Art Exhibition

The "2009 Ontario Open Art Exhibition" is presented by the Museum of History and Art, Ontario, Associates. The "Open" occurs every other year. This juried exhibition provides an open venue for artists of the region. It also provides museum visitors with a broad perspective of current regional art. The 2009 awards juror is Bob Smith. Bob is known for his arts leadership and teaching accomplishments as a professor at Chaffey College. From 1956 to 1996, he taught Art History, Drawing, Painting, Design, Photography, Film, and TV History. He is also a celebrated painter and musician. All artists are eligible to hand-deliver artwork submissions for the "2009 Ontario Open Art Exhibition." Two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks of all media are acceptable. Electronic artwork will not be accepted. The artwork must be original work by the submitting artist and it must be ready for display. There is a limit of two artworks per submitting artist. The drop-off dates are from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3rd and 10:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4th. There is a fee to enter artwork -- checks or cash only. Museum members may submit art work at the fee of $20 per entry ($30 for two entries) and non-members may submit artwork at the fee of $25 per entry ($40 for two). The juried winners will be awarded $500 for First Place, $300 for Second Place, $200 for Third Place, and $75 for an Honorable Mention award (up to four Honorable Mentions are selected).
