The Corona Art Association is happy to announce award winning Riverside Plein Air artist CHICK CURTIS will give a demonstration at our General Meeting, Tuesday Oct. 14th at 7 p.m. Meeting is at the ART HOUSE GALLERY, 510 W. Foothill Parkway, Corona Heritage Park Museum. Chick grew up in Virginia and has also lived in Costa Rica, and visited Thailand, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Argentina and recently studied printmaking in Italy . He graduated from University of Richmond, Va. (BA Psychology, served in the Air Force, ran a restaurant, graduated from Cal State San Bernardino's MA program in educational counseling. He is a member of PAAR, RAM, RCAA, CAA and has won numerous awards in exhibits throughout Riverside county and travels to numerous art associations in Southern California where he as also won awards. Having entered the art-making world at mid-life he has attempted a variety of media and styles at warp speed. His desire to make art is unquenchable. He has an intuitive child-like curiosity to explore which compliments the maturity and skill which he has developed as an adult. This gives him the freedom to explore many different styles and techniques. His wish is to interpret the world and its many facets in a way that becomes part history, part beauty, part intrigue, and part joy. He is drawn with equal intensity to landscapes, cityscapes and people because of the spiritual quality of being in nature, the energy of a city and to people because of the complexity of human nature. He is also a very exciting, skilled printmaker. Please join us for an exciting demo which the audience will have a part in. Chick will let the group choose the colors he will use in his palette and the size of brushes used. Light refreshments will be served, raffles to take part in. Bring a piece of artwork for the monthly competition. Chick will determine, first, second, third place in the monthly show. CAA's current show, "The Five of Five Jive" may be viewed at the meeting.
