All Star Big Band with Mara Getz and Rocky Blumhagen That's a crazy title, but it reminds you of the King of Swing, Benny Goodman. He had a great band and featured his clarinet and drummer Gene Krupa on a tune called Swing, Swing, Swing. The Big Band All Stars are going to take off on that and several big clarinet features including Artie Shaw's Begin the Beguine and Woody Herman's Woodchoppers Ball. Joining the big band will be Mara Getz, who we might persuade to do a little “Peggy Lee” music, and Rocky Blumhagen who is really in tune with the swinging big band style. We expect this one to be SRO! Performance: Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 2:00pm Tickets: $ 36 Adults $ 34 Seniors $ 30 Groups of 20 or more
