Razzle-dazzle family fun day

Families will enjoy “razzling and dazzling” at the San Bernardino County Museum on Saturday, August 16, 23, and 30. Free with museum admission, these activities will run from 11am to 4pm. Visit the special exhibit “All That Glitters: a century of razzle-dazzle” and examine the spectacular and sometimes strange adornments that people have worn in past centuries. Participants then can design their own “bling” to take home. If you have ever wondered what to do with a celery vase, how a pickle castor works, or where the tradition of napkin rings came from, you won’t want to miss “A Feast for the Eyes.” “It’s hard to believe some of the strange inventions that people used to make their cooking lives easier,” remarked Carla Rosenkild, museum educator. “Some older folks will recognize a few of our cooking implements, but most people will have a tough time figuring them out. Children will also enjoy learning how to fold napkins into fancy shapes for their dinner tables at home.”
