50th Annual Concerto Concert

Add Review/CommentMusic student and concerto competition winner Julia Park, pianist, is the featured soloist for the 50th annual Concerto Concert. The program is titled "An Evening in Vienna." Park will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 23 in A major, K. 488 with Daniel Cummings conducting the La Sierra Symphony Orchestra. The program includes works by Schubert, Haydn and Beethoven performed by various soloists, the orchestra and LSU Chamber Singers. Park is the recipient of La Sierra's second annual Marcia Specht Guy Memorial Award. Park, a native of Korea, is a competitor and winner of many music events. She was selected to perform the Music Teachers’ Association of California Convention recitals from 2003 to 2005. She performed the Rachmaninoff Second Piano Concerto in 2006 with the La Sierra Symphony Orchestra. She also participated that year in the Ameropa international chamber music festival and educational program in Prague, Czech Republic. As a result of her performance, she was invited to participate in the Mozart Piano Festival in Austria in the summer of 2007. That summer, Park was accepted to participate in the PianoSummer at New Paltz program where she studied with Vladimir Feltsman and other renowned Russian pianists.
