Free Admission to the County Museum

Visitors are invited to visit the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands on Sunday, March 2 from 9am to 5pm free of charge. Free admission is sponsored by San Bernardino County 5th District. From noon to 2pm, the Embroiderers Guild will demonstrate fancy stitch work in the Fisk Gallery, where visitors can also enjoy a special exhibit, “All That Glitters: a century of razzle-dazzle.” At 2pm, Curator of History Michele Nielsen will give a gallery walk to visitors through “A Feast for the Eyes: dining in style,” a new exhibit in the Hall of History, to learn more about eating accessories, traditions, and even table manners in the past. “A Feast for the Eyes” features food preparation and dining from the 1860s to the 1940s and how they relate to the way we eat today, and it will run through October 26. Visitors will also enjoy outdoor exhibits that include native plant and cactus gardens, a steam locomotive and caboose, mining and lumbering equipment, heritage orange groves, and sculpture. The Exploration Station live animal gallery will be open from 1 to 4pm.
