Evolution: Progression, Not Progress

Add Review/CommentOn Sunday, February 10, Curator of Paleontology Eric Scott will discuss the theory of evolution, one of the most far–reaching and powerful scientific theories ever proposed, in his lecture “Evolution: Progression, Not Progress” at the San Bernardino County Museum at 2:00 p.m. This lecture is open to public, and free with museum admission. “Understanding how evolution took place is an ongoing study, involving a wide variety of disciplines and using many different techniques,” said Scott. “Despite vigorous research, many people remain unclear about what the theory of evolution says, and what it doesn’t say. What exactly is the scientific theory of evolution? How does it work? What are some of the assumptions, both accurate and inaccurate, often made about evolution?” Join Scott as he answers these and many other questions about evolution, the history of its development as a scientific theory, and its implication – just in time for the annual celebration of the birth of Charles Darwin.
