    The Corona Art Association will present Riverside artist, Ada Passaro who will give a pastel demonstration. The meeting is held at 7pm, Jan. 8, 2008 in the ART HOUSE GALLERY, on the grounds of Corona Heritage Park, 510 W. Foothill Parkway, (one block W. of Main St.) Ada received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California in Los Angeles. Further studies were at Chouinard's and the Art Center Schoool of Design. For over 40 years she was involved in the art field. At the age of 21 she had her first Art Director position. For 6 years she was lead Ad Designer in Fashion at the Broadway Department Store Headquarters in Los Angeles. In 1961, she relocated to Riverside after a 2 year stay in Denver, Colorado. She free lanced in design and illustration. Among her many clients were UCR, The Snow Goose, the Queen's Cabinet and The Los Angeles Times. In 1976, she was buyer and owner of Second Nature, an eclectic gift shop located on the Downtown Mall in Riverside. In 1998, she enrolled in a figure drawing and painting class at Riverside Community College to change her direction in art. There she picked up a set of soft pastels and was hooked!! From then on soft pastels became her meduim of choice. She is an active member of the Riverside Art Museum, Fallbrook Art Association, Pastel Society of San Diego, the Sierra Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of the West coast and the Pastel Society of Sand Diego. In 2003, she was awarded a signature membership from the Sierra Pastel Society. In 2005, she became a charter board member of the Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR). Figurative painting and painting in the great ourtdoors are her passions. Please join us for an evening with fellow artists, raffles, light refreshments and a chance to win a picture by Ada Passaro.
