The relationship between painting and photography is more symbiotic than is often acknowledged. We tend to trust photography, still, to portray an objective reality, while paintings carry the aura of artistic license and imagination. But the two disciplines enrich each other in countless ways. Photorealistic paint styles would not exist without the help of photography. Join artists Todd Brainard and James Lorigan, artists within the exhibition "Real Uncertain: A Conversation Between Painting and Photography," as they each discuss their artistic practice within the context of photorealism.
