Fringe Festival - Part of Fanning the Creative Flame

Produced by the Riverside Arts Council and Riverside Downtown Partnership, the Fringe Festival presents live theatre in an informal, accessible and inexpensive environment even as it strives to break down traditional boundaries between audience and artist. A festival of live stage performance, including theater, performance art, improv, and live music encourages open dialogue between theatre-goers and theatre-creators. In this year's Fringe Festival, budding playwrights, producers and actors will take the art of the play to the heart of Downtown Riverside, using Back to the Grind, UCR/California Museum of Photography and the Riverside Art Museum as both stage and backdrop. 12:00-1:00 Riverside Art Museum On the Spot will be performing Improvisational theatre. 1:15 - 2:00 California Museum of Photography UCR Golden Means Players will be performing original works written by UCR students. 2:15 - 3:00 California Museum of Photography Poly High School will be performing the Elephant Man. 3:15 - 4:00 Division 9 Gallery at the Life Arts Building The Fictitious Theatre Company will be doing a stage reading of Shakespeare in the City an original play written by Molly Gross. 3:00 - 7:00 Back to the Grind There will be live musical performances by Zombelle, Pegasissy, Old Mexico.
