• DBR, solo violin • DJ Scientific, turntables Harlem-based composer/performer Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) returns to Riverside for an exciting conversation between two unlikely instruments: the violin and the turntable. DBR's violin and DJ Scientific's two turntables will sing, battle, and rhyme together, honoring not only the first and second Viennese schools of Europe, but the Bronx, and Old School Hip-Hop. DBR is a composer, performer, violinist, and bandleader whose visionary approach to blending funk, rock, hip-hop and classical music has led to successful collaborations with Philip Glass, Savion Glover, Cassandra Wilson, Susan Sarandon, and DJ’s Radar, Spooky, and Scientific.
