The Music from the Crooked Road tour celebrates the deep-roots musical culture of Southwest Virginia along Hwy. 58, also known as the crooked road. This tour of old-time bluegrass and mountain gospel sounds brings together National Heritage Award Fellow and Appalachian guitar master Wayne Henderson, bluegrass banjo virtuoso Sammy Shelor, family old-time string band The White Top Mountain Band, and old-time fiddle and banjo masters Kirk Sutphin and Eddie Bond. The future of bluegrass is also represented with the band No Speed Limit along with Elizabeth LaPrelle, a 19-year old keeper of ancient mountain ballads and songs. The outstanding artists appearing together is a tribute to the generations of Appalachian musicians who share a unique affinity for music and a common geography bounded by 200 miles of crooked road.
