On Wednesday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m., forensic anthropologist Dr. Alexis Gray will present a guest lecture at the San Bernardino County Museum. This presentation is free to public. Forensics is defined as the use of science or technology in the investigation and establishment of facts or evidence in a court of law. The field of forensics has a strong presence in popular culture, from “Quincy” to today’s “CSI” series. Dr. Gray’s lecture will address the reality of forensic science and how biological anthropology – the study of human biological variation through space and time – can play an important role. Gray, a professional biological anthropologist, is a consultant for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, Coroners Division. She is also an instructor at Riverside Community College and Cal Poly Pomona, teaching Physical, Cultural and Forensic Anthropology. Gray received her bachelor’s degree from California State University Fullerton, and her doctorate in Anthropology from University of California at Riverside. The San Bernardino County Museum sponsors its guest lecture series to share current research by prominent researchers and scholars with the public. This event is free to public. The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. Parking is free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. If assistive listening devices or other auxiliary aids are needed in order to participate in museum exhibits or programs, requests should be made through Museum Visitor Services at least three business days prior to your visit.
