A small exhibition to honor Herb Quick: former Manager of the UCR Photographic Services, acclaimed photographer, and long time friend of the museum. When Herbert Quick passed away this October, he left UCR/California Museum of Photography not only his life’s archive of prints and negatives, but a remarkable set of thirty-seven 3 ring binders which preserved in carefully numbered chronological order, contact prints of the photographs he considered of greatest significance. Herb was an enormously talented photographer in the grand meditative tradition of Ansel Adams, but he also looked beyond the landscape; he was a careful commentator of socially significant events and their effects on people. The exhibition, consisting of 20 of Herb’s large format portraits, highlights his love for the art of photography.

    Tickets: UCR/California Museum of Photography is located at 3824 Main Street in downtown Riverside, California. Regular hours are Tues-Sat 12-5pm. Admission is $3, FREE for openings and special events, FREE for students with ID, and FREE for children under 12 and seniors.
