The Jacques Thibaud String Trio has teamed up with their friend and musical collaborator, the brilliant young Chinese pianist Tao Lin, to perform chamber masterworks by Mozart, Brahms, Schumann and others. With their charm, youthful exuberance, and astounding virtuosity, this trio from Berlin has delighted audiences worldwide. Prize-winners in the prestigious 1999 Bonn Chamber Music Competition, the Jacques Thibaud String Trio was founded at the Berlin School of Art in 1994. Since then, the ensemble – comprising Burkhard Maiss on violin, Philip Douvier on viola, and Bogdan Jianu on cello – performed throughout Europe, Japan and over 40 states in the U.S., receiving tremendous acclaim from audiences and critics alike. www.thibaud-trio.de Tao Lin was born into a musical family in Shanghai, China. Admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory at eight, his progress was rapid and resulted in his winning prizes in numerous competitions. Mr. Lin was a founding member of the Shanghai Trio and his appearances have brought unanimous critical accolades and praise for his subtle, intimate pianism and brilliant technique.
