James Sewell Ballet creates works that connect artists with audiences to advance contemporary ballet. These innovative works skillfully explore technical boundaries and challenge the dancers’ physical limits. Since 1982, James has choreographed more than 50 ballets, including nine for which he composed the music. More than a dozen companies in the United States and Taiwan have performed his ballets. JSB’s Minneapolis-based, chamber-sized ensemble of eight dancers primarily present Sewell’s contemporary ballet choreography. www.jsballet.org
