Jazz pianist Kenny Barron, is a living master of music. After spending years in the bands of Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Getz, and having co-founded Sphere, a group dedicated to the music of Thelonious Monk – he is able to master any modern-jazz setting in which he finds himself. Barron’s gift “is finding a song’s equilibrium and providing exactly the touch required, whether it’s a dense harmonic cluster, a tricky Latin rhythm or an exhalation of frothy cadenzas” (San Francisco Chronicle). This nine-time Grammy nominee makes it all look easy.
