Debra Huse Oil Painting Demonstration

Award-winning plein air painter Debra Huse will give an oil painting demonstration. Debra Huse is a contemporary colorist and impressionist. She uses rich color and bold fluid strokes to capture the light and drama in her paintings. As Degas and Mary Cassatt, Huse enjoys working in oils and pastels, and is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America. Debra began formal painting when she was ten, stretching her own canvases and painting, at first, in acrylic. At age 11, she was awarded a scholarship and attended college courses at the prestigious John Heron School of Art in Indianapolis. Currently living in Southern California, Debra grew up in Indiana which also has a rich history of plein air impressionist painters. Debra is affiliated with: American Impressionist Society, California Art Club (Artist Member), Hoosier Salon, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, National Association of Women Artists, Oil Painters of America, Pastel Society of America (Signature Member), Southern California Plein Air Painters, Society for the Advancement of Plein Air Painting See her lovely paintings at www.debrahuse.com, and also workshop info (like August 15-17 on the coast). Debra is donating a print for an opportunity drawing.

    Tickets: Free for all members of the Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR). $5 for non-PAAR members (applicable to the $20 fee to join PAAR. PAAR members must also be members of Riverside Art Museum. We will accept membership fees for both RAM and PAAR at the door.
