Native American Traditions: Pottery from the Pueblos. A special exhibit in the Hall of History galleries at the San Bernardino County Museum. An ancient art form - a continuing tradition. The latest exhibit in the museum's Native American Traditions series showcases pottery from the museum's anthropology division collections, most of which have never before been seen on public display. The pueblos of New Mexico and the Four Corners region of the United States are the most abundant source of American Indian pottery today. Designs and techniques of contemporary pottery reflect Pueblo ancestral traditions. Each ceramic featured in "Pottery from the Pueblos" is unique; each is hand-made; and each will become part of the pottery tradition of tomorrow.
